Eurotec Environmental wins the 2017 Healthcare Estates IHEEM “Product Innovation” Award for it’s Sterilwave Clinical Waste Treatment Plant at Bart’s Whipps Cross Hospital
Eurotec Environmental was delighted to receive the IHEEM Healthcare Estates Product Innovation Award for 2017 during a glittering award ceremony at the Manchester Mercure Hotel on the evening of Tuesday 10th October. The award was in recognition of Eurotec’s successful creation of the UK’s first Sterilwave Clinical Waste Plant at Bart’s Whipps Cross Hospital and the many benefits it has brought to the Hospital.
The “Product Innovation” category was one of the most highly competitive sections with 5 other fantastic innovation projects up for the award and, therefore, winning in this category is a significant achievement. The winner was judged and then selected by a panel of 6 Senior Estates Industry Professionals and was presented to Eurotec Environmental by the Award Sponsor ( leading energy and service group Engie ) and by 6 times World Snooker Champion Steve Davis OBE.
Eurotec Environmental General Manager, Paul Barker, said :- “We are delighted to receive this recognition. This is our first award since our Sterilwave Plant went live at Whipps Cross Hospital in December last year and it would not have been possible without the support of a number of organisations”.
“Bart’s Health NHS Trust and Whipps Cross Hospital in particular have been very supportive all the way through this project and we are especially thankful to Fiona Daly and Trust Waste Manager Neil Allen.
“Special thanks goes to our technology partner Bertin Technologies who manufacture the Sterilwave machines that are at the heart of our service. We could not wish for a more supportive and pro-active partner and we are very thankful for the support they provide to us. Our biggest thanks, however, must go to our fantastic Operating Team on-site at Whipps Cross Hospital who are the people who actually do all the hard work within our Sterilwave Plant so this award is as much for them as for anyone”.
